norton-foundationWilderness Louisville is thrilled to share that the Norton Foundation has awarded $15,000 to support the Louisville ECHO program for the 2016/2017 school year which will allow the initiative to add an additional school, Maupin Elementary, to the program. With funding support from The Norton Foundation, students at Maupin and other participating Jefferson County Public Schools, will be provided with engaging outdoor experiential learning, including, but not limited to aquatic ecology activities associated with the Louisville ECHO’s “Canoemobile” education day along the Ohio River; exploration of Louisville urban “wilderness” including an overnight camping experience at Jefferson Memorial Forest, and memorable trips to explore either Mammoth Cave or the Daniel Boone National Forest.  More information about The Norton Foundation can be found at https://www.nortonfoundation.com/.
