About the Memorial
The Jefferson Memorial Forest was established as a park in 1945 and dedicated initially in 1948 in memory of the area’s World War II dead whose lives were given to protect the United States. Later the dedication was expanded to honor all men and women who served in the United States armed forces.
To honor Kentucky veterans and increase awareness of why the forest was originally established, a beautiful solid granite memorial is being created. The memorial will exceed 14 feet in length and 9 feet in height. The natural finish, shape, and Kentucky state cut-out will complement and interact with the surrounding forest as the seasons change. The large solid bronze medallions will recognize each branch of service. Our hope is to create a welcoming, peaceful place where generations can gather in nature to remember, reflect, and give thanks to those who were willing to serve and protect with honor our country.
Please donate to make this Veterans Memorial a reality. Thank you!
