Waverly Park

About Waverly Park

Not far from the infamous Waverly Hills Sanatorium and adjacent to Bobby Nichols Golf course you’ll find Waverly Park.  This natural area has much to offer those who wind their way along its entry road.

It possesses a scenic 5-acre fishing lake that is regularly stocked by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. The lake is open to anyone with a valid fishing license.

Waverly Park is also a favorite place of mountain bike and hiking enthusiasts due to its extensive system of shared-use trails (biking/hiking).

An accessible gravel trail encircles Waverly Lake and formal fishing pads line the water’s edge. A restroom facility is available with drinking water. A privately operated dog park is located in the area, as are two shelters that can be rented for picnics or other types of gatherings.

All trails in Waverly Park– except the playground loop trail and the lake trail–are open to mountain biking. The park is well known for its challenging trails, which have been designed largely with mountain biking in mind, although the trail system is shared-use for hikers, as well.
